Trunk Show - Blue by Enzoani

We have been busy little bees the past few days. Last weekend we hosted a WToo trunk show and had the chance to work with the most amazing brides. Seriously, we have the best jobs. It is so rewarding to see a bride fall in love with her wedding gown.

Now we are bustling around, gearing up for round two. Our Blue by Enzoani trunk show starts tomorrow, and these dresses are nothing short of fabulous. The photos just don't do them justice. Lace, beading, organza and floral details abound. The designers at Blue showcase impeccable attention to detail, and the result is perfection in fashion-forward designs paired classic silhouettes.

What exactly is a trunk show, you ask? A trunk show is when a designer sends us boxes and boxes full of gorgeous wedding gowns that we don't normally have. We get to have them in store for a full, glorious weekend before we have to pack them up and ship them off to the next store. A trunk show is the perfect time for you to "say yes to the dress" since you're able to see so many more than you would during a typical appointment. Plus, we offer a 10% discount on all dresses ordered during the show.

Almost every bride we work with is using Pinterest as a source of wedding planning inspiration in some capacity, and we love helping brides take their ideas from a simple Pin to reality. In a world of Pinterest, Facebook and bridal blogs, expressing individuality on her wedding day is becoming increasingly more and more important to our brides.

Adding a belt or a sash to a simple dress is an easy way take it up a notch on the glamour scale, as well as adding a touch of your personality. From Swarovski crystals and fabric flowers to simple satin ribbons and lace touches, the right belt can make the dress.

Do's and Dont's of Thank You Notes

We had an absolutely packed house last night (we had to borrow bar stools from next door!) for our Wedding Planning 101 etiquette session and we LOVED it. Molly Kellogg is such a great speaker and had the whole place in stitches we were laughing so much. I learned A LOT of things that I didn't know I didn't know. I promise to step my manners up a notch moving forward :)



I just feel so blessed to be able to work with such amazing brides and their families every day. I seriously had so much fun with all you ladies last night and can't wait for the next session.

In case you missed out on the fun, here are 10 Do's and Don'ts of thank you notes from Emily Post's The Definitive Guide to Your Wedding Experience.

1. Do personalize your notes and make reference to the person as well as the gift.

2. Do remember that a gift should be acknowledged with the same courtesy and generous spirit in which it was given.

3. Do be enthusiastic, but don't gush. Avoid saying a gift is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen unless you really mean it.

4. Don't send form letters or cards with printed messages and just your signature; don't use email or post a generic thank you on your wedding website in lieu of a personal note.

5. Do promptly acknowledge the receipt of shipped gifts by sending a note right away or calling and following up with a written note in a day or two.

6. Don't mention that you plan to return a girt or that you are dissatisfied in any way.

7. Don't tailor your note to the perceived value of the gift. No one should receive a perfunctory note.

8. Do refer to the way you will use a gift of money. Mentioning the amount is optional.

9. Don't include wedding photos or use photo cards if it will delay sending the note.

10. Don't use being late as an excuse not to write. Even if you are still sending notes after your first anniversary, keep writing!

Being in love never goes out of style

Ohh La La. Earlier this week, we had the privilege of spending time with the fabulous Grace Ormonde at a launch party for her new book -- Being in Love Never Goes out of Style. You have probably read her magazine - Wedding Style - (if you haven't, you must pick up a copy. It's GOR-geous), and her book is equally as amazing.

The launch party took place at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota and was filled with best-of-the-best wedding specialists from around the state. Every detail was organized to perfection and we loved the pink champagne, pink mojitos and the gourmet dessert bar. The shirtless male models weren't half bad, either ;) The party was simply amazing and lasted well into the night.

Grace's inspiration for her book came straight from her experience in the wedding industry. She told us that no matter what trends or styles are "in" and regardless of what is going on in the world, people are always falling in love. We couldn't agree more! The 416-page book is filled with beautiful images and tons of wedding inspiration. We can't wait to share some of the inspiration with you!
